and clinical facilities for research. At the present time, of 150 beds,
we are utilizing 70 for research purposes. Laboratories are establist
in plurmacology, psychologr, and electroencephalography as well as a
cmputer center for both statistical and EG analyses. There is a
specialized psychiatric research library as a component part of the

In addition, there is a fully qualified tines-year psychiatric
residency training program at the Institute, and a special training
prog‘am in clinical psychology is being established. Both in the research
pregame and in the training
gprogana, the Institute is affiliated with
the Departmnt of Psychiatry of Washington University Scrool of Medicine.
At the present time, there are a number of research programs in
progress. These include Lithiun as a therapy for mania; the use of
Yohimbine as a precipitant of anxiety and the develogment of antiamdety agents; relation of EEG patterns and organic factors in the
trea‘cnent of therapy resistant psychotics, computer analysis of the
electroencephalogam, the effects of drug withdrawal on behavior in the
chronically ill; and the treatmnt of psychotics by nurse relationship
Wimpy.
Appointments are made at an initial salary of $12,000, with
adjustments as may be warranted for research mcperience and qualifications.
