The study uniortunately is not well known, despite its publication‘in JAMA, since few of the present practitioners even recall that insulin coma existed. I Indeed, I Hillside remains an active part of the SUNY clinical campus structure and our students rotate through there for their third year rotation. Their residency continues to have a good reputation, and their research is excellent. Don Klein succeeded me as Research Director, then went on to Columbia University. John Kane, his student headed the research for the past decade and has a clinical research center in schizophrenia. He was juSt promoted to be the medical director of Hillside and chairman of the Division of Psychiatry of LIJH. He should be able to continue its research interest. I continue on service on the in-patient unit at University Hospital six months a year with two residents and two medical students during their rotations; run the ECT service (which is flourishing); and continue research in EEG, as before. My main work is in editing CONVULSIVE THERAPY, a challenge which I accepted in 198‘! and which has kept me busy since. It is a quarterly journal, now completing its fourth year of publication. It was kind to have a reminder of our work together; my best regards.
