Poppers, M.D. Department of Anesthesiology at Stony Brook Long Island, New York 1.1794 SUNY Dear Paul, I am pleased to submit this letter in support of the promotion of Dr. FARROKH R. MENEKSHA from the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology to Clinical Associate Professor. 1 have worked often with him in the ECT treatment unit. I first met him during his residency training, and since then he has frequently been the attending anesthesiologist for our treatments. It may be useful at this point to indicate that our ECT facility is a tertiary care center, with many high-risk patients sent to us from other treatment facilities for this complex treatment. He is a dedicated and responsible clinician, well trained with a sincere interest in our patients. He shows good clinical judgement, relates well to patients, and is well liked by the psychiatric staff. Regardless of the medical and anesthesia complexity of the case, he has been deliberate, careful, and reasoned in our collaboration. He has a knowledge of a wide range of interventions, and l have yet to see him upset by a case. He is well versed in the anesthesia literature and discusses the treatment with assurance. His knowledge of anesthesiology appears excellent, and he likes to teach. He is comfortable teaching both anesthesia and psychiatric residents and students. Farrokh has been interested in our research studies, and he has been most cooperative regardless of the delays which our tests and requests imposed on the clinical process. Finally, Farrokh is friendly, relaxed, interested, and enthusiastic about our work. Given encouragement, I believe he will expand his research accomplishments. He is a valuable member of the clinical staff, and lam delighted to recommend his promotion to associate professorial rank. This letter may be shared with him.
