I was impressed with the efforts which went into the report and overall, see it (and the Consensus Conference) as public reviews which, when done fairly, are useful in supporting our present usage. The material for the final number of CONVULSIVE THERAPY for this year was sent to the publisher on Saturday; and we already have some fine articles for the first numbers of next year. ‘ You may be interested in an argument against ECT just published by the Irish curmudgeon Peter Skrabanek in the Irish Medical Journal (79:157-165, 1986).
