Manning Boulevard Albany, N.Y. 12208 Dear Emerick, Your letter of October 3 piqued my curiosity. i re-read the copy of .Meduna's autobiography, and found that he described meeting with you in the text. Describing his visits to the United States and other countries of the Western Hemisphere in 1939, Meduna writes: "In New York we met Emerick Friedman, an American psychiatrist of Hungarian parentage, with whom i had been in previous scientific correspondence, and in collaboration with whom i had published a paper. He took us in his car to Boston where' we saw how the Metrazol treatment was given in this country and I recited one of my memorized English speeches of which word." I understood hardly a l have decided to publish this autobiography, probably divided in two issues of the new journal CONVULSIVE THERAPY which I am now editing.
