It was kind to - these bottles have been superior, and special friends during the holiday season. send the wine I usually share them with As I wrote to Kurt, during the past year, I have put aside my work with pharmaco-EEG and devoted most of my time to editing the new scientific journal, CONVULSIVE THERAPY. I received the invitation to organize the journal in July, 1984 at the CINP meetings in Florence; agreed in September; and the first issue was mailed in mid-April, I985. Succeeding numbers appeared in July and September and the fourth will be mailed the first week in December. We are on a good schedule now, and I think the journal has been accepted. have enjoyed the work, and especially the challenge of working with authors to improve their manuscripts. Some reports are hardly decipherable, and in many, the English is horrid. From time to time, however, I regret not working with volunteers and with the EEG graphs, but that work continues in the hands of others. Turan has been busy with Hoffmann-La Roche, helping them with their problem with Valium and generic diazepam. Twice, he invited me to his presentations in Nutley,and I had to admit that his data are compelling —- there are differences in time course of EEG effects for different formulations. To confirm his findings, I wrote a protocol for them, and I am awaiting their approval. I trust the year has been a good one for you. wishes for a healthy and a happy 1986.
