Having just completed a review of the Kalinowsky and Hippius volume, it is easy to conclude that a more authoritative and technically sophisticated volume is still needed. 1 would be pleased to assist such a venture in the way that you request. However, would it not be more acceptable for Professor Kiloh (and Dr. SydneySmith) to accept the selection of a reviewer (or to select their own reviewer) ‘? If you explore such a mission with the authors, and they are agreeable, I believe it would be equally useful for your needs if the criticism is made with their knowledge. To the extent that the criticism may be justified, it would allow the authors to consider the suggestions in revisions. I in either instance, anonymous or with their consent, 1 am agreeable.
