Using pharmaco-EEG methods, I studied a number of the peptides for which a nobtropic status has been claimed. I was unable to elicit either an EEG profile or evidence of behavioral effects. I have also read the literature, and found the published data until 1981 thin and unpromising. Lately, you have published an editorial supporting such a classification -but the editorial lacked the evidence for the claim. I recently came across the citation list for the special issue of Drug Development Research (2 (5), 1982) which has a number of titles which suggest that they might contain the evidence for such a classification. 1 requested a copy. of the journal from our library, and we have no subscription; I requested an interlibrary loan, but as an unbound journal, it is not available. (We actually began two, but when I checked the inclusion criteria, one patient was 70 years of age, and Dr. Gholly rejected her.)
