By all means, make corrections and additions. I tried to get the essential issues for the journal, as I see them, in the last paragraphs. I also think it is a good idea to separate our aims from those of clinical EEG. "Work here is progressing well. As you may have heard, there has been some political pressure, again in California, to stop the use of convulsive therapy. I am busy defending this treatment, and particularly its continued research. Our pharmaco—EEG studies continue, although a bit more slowly now that Mr. Irwin is in Basie. I understand that there is a misunderstanding about our paper on placebo effects in EEG.
