Some time ago, in October, in response to an OMH request for suggestions for "technology transfer", I submitted a proposal for ECT training and monitoring. (I sent it to R. Whalen and s. F. Yolles at LIRI. ) last No response has been forthcoming, and of course, such is not unusual. However, one element of that recommendation was an invitation for ECT therapists and nurses to attend an ECT.training session. Three are scheduled —— in Chicago on April at Stony Brook on April 25, and at the APA Meeting in San Francisco in May. ll, I enclose copies of the Stony Brook program. Perhaps you will wish to take credit for the application of some LIRI research to improve state hospital services, by recommending, to the appropriate officers at OMH, that designated users of ECT attend the session at Stony Brook.
