The xerox copy of the galley proof is a report in press that I completed in January, 1973; the preprint a capy of an address that I made in Holland in October, at a convocation reviewing the recent progress in developing new drugs, particularly the development of mianserin (GB‘9h). .There is some redundance in the two reports, occasioned by the different audiences, but these will give you some idea of the problem. It is my intention to develop a collaborative program, bringing together the chemistry and pharmacology of industry; and the interest and enthusiasm of the university. The focus will be in the ebaluation of new compounds for psychiatric purposes, as well as refining the methods of this evaluation.
