Dear Lee:

vriting this letter in regard to the latest meeting

will consider an annual return to Palm Springs with a high pri~

I trust the painful ieauc or the invitees has been cue»
ceaetully resolved. I was embarrassed by the Council and the
Secretary, as were some other members of the Coylege, and I
trust this will not recur.

I am writing specifically to raise a qucetion with regard
to the arrangements. The registration the of $25.00 was tied
to a dinner and the free distribution of alcohol. Since not
all members of the ACE? drink alcohol, it seems that we are

subventing alcohol users and in some rather indirect way cn~
couraaing alcoholism. As a college dedicated to drugs and
their abuse potential. I believe we should be more sensitive
to the problems of abuse and not be put in the posture (even
it noble and fund~raiaing motives are involved) of encouraging
alcoholism. Alcoholics ought to pay their own way. I would
hope that the Council would make it possible next year for
there to be a separation between an attendance Ice and dinner
and alcohol fees.
