Mechoulam University of Jerusalem Dear Prof. Mechoulam, <7 :- Mammy-”WV I have just returned from examining some of the chronic hashish users in the laboratory of Prof. Miras in Athens. We observed 4 men as they smoked various doses of hashish, U.S. grown marijuana, THC impregnated placebo marijuana, and placebo marijuana. Our data is confusing, for the men exhibited 'tolerance' to hashish, but not to marijuana; they showed behavioral changes to marijuana which seemed distinguishable from their responses to hashish; and they showed no reaponse to 75 mg THC. One <v: is the different of the mix of possibilities underlying these constituents in the mixed observations two samples. Before leaving Athens, Prof. Miras provided us with another sample of hashish which has a low concentration of THC, and the men reported this sample to be 'without effect'. are replicating these observations in another sample; THC~A~9 and ~8. I have some samples of the two types of hashish, and the U.S. marijuana, and I am writing to ask if you would be willing to assay these for us.
