Dr. Don, who received training in psychiatry with me in St. Louis in 1964-65, has been invited by this Department to join our faculty. His experience in psychopharmacology equips him to develop a special program in the treatment of opiate dependent veterans who are now being admitted to the facility at Montrose, York. Through our Dean's Committee we have been asked to establish the treatment program on a ’crash' basis, recognizing the emergency nature of the problem as outlined by the V.A. New affiliation with that treatment center, President in June. Dr. Don Besires to emigrate to the 6.5. The consul in Johannesburg has indicated to him that no visa can, in due course, be issued prio to December of this year. It is our belief that his early arrival will permit us to establish the treatment programs when they are urgently requested. We do not have the personnel to establish this unit, and have invited Dr. Don to do so.
