These studies continue our evaluations of these drugs under FDArIND 6825 (methadone) and FDA-IND 6590 (1—a1pha-acetylmetha- dol). In both these studies, heroin is used in the ”heroin challenge” model (see reprint attached). we use single doses of 25,50,and 75 mg heroin at 24,48,72, and 96 hours after a dose of methadone or l—alpha—acetylmethadol to establish cross tolerance. These stddies are part of our NIMH study program, ”Opiate Effects on Brain Function and Behavior", MB 19476, and a copy of that protocal is enclosed. I also enclosing the appropriate BNDD drug request I hold BNDD registrations AF1732103 and PF0024555 for research studies. am forms (2513). le would be grateful for a renewal of our supply of diacetylmorphine (heroin) for these studies.
