Unfortunately, both reports are focussed on the evoked response, a technic with which I an familiar, but not to a degree to be critical. I an returning these reports with the suggestion that others more qualified than me rsvfevishethstistesles would be Roy John, Charles Shsgass (Temple Univ.), Ed Domino (Michigan) or Bert Rosner (Yale). In A143, I read the section on scalp EEG. The samples presented are interesting examples of the probable EEG differences between cycloproprane and the group methoxyflurane, ethrsne and ether. Indeed, the sample clearly shows a difference in spindling and in dominant frequency among the three beta procedures. But the presenta— tion lacks any quantification; there is no accommodation for differences in the pre~drug EEG record; and there is no effort to relate the differences in evoked potential to the differences in resting EEG record. Even recognising the unique nature of this study, these lacks (in 1971) show a deficiency which would require much compensation from the remainder of the report to recommend its publication. Incidentally, Table I seems misplaced. I regret I cannot be of more specific help, but I cannot do the journal or the authors justice. Thanks for thinking of me.
