With the new services at Kirby and perhaps at.Mbntrose, I fear I will not make any progress in summarizing my data. I am writing to request a sabbatical year effective July 1. 1972. I joined the Department in April 1966 and believe I will be eligible at that time. Such freedom will allow me to join the faculty of a university center or research laboratory in Europe, where the reports could be written (I hope) and I could learn more about psychopharmacology and electrOphysiology. To make the necessary arrangements I will need the school's approval now. 'This will permit me to make my connittments. to work through our programs so they may be productive in my absence, and to plan adequate coverage for my programs.
