It was specially kind of you to am describe my service as secretary as particularly useful to the Association, for I have tried to exercise the responsibilities of the position to the continued growth of the organization. If the services have been of such merit, perhaps three years is sufficiently long to judge whether stewardship should be extended. It is unclear to me why the Association insists on longevity in some positions and not in others. Nevertheless, I have found the position of Secretary regarding and interesting, but no longer challenging. While I would be honored to continue to serve the Association, I would not appreciate another term as secretary. Among the complaints of the was the lack of opportunity members regarding the association for participation. belief that the Association should involve It more of has been its my members in the program and the Program Committee; in the council; and in the publications. So far I have been successful only in encouraging additional participation in the committees of the Council. Perhaps, encouraging a transfer in the office of secretary after a few years will provide a model for other positions in the Association. Again, my thanks for your kind words and recommendations.
