For two years we have been guests at Gracie Square Hospital,
and with your cooperation, have accomplished the mission originally
set - to compare unilateral and bilateral ECT. Our studies have
been gratefying. Four reports are completed, and two are in press.

am enclosing a preprint of the summary report as submitted to
the Archives, in part to thank you for your cooperation and indulgence.
Without the help and tolerance of the staff we would not have been
able to succeed.

I

Because the next phases of the study require special control
we are moving the study to Metropolitan and Kirby

of the cases,

(Manhattan State) Hospitals.

Again, my associates, Drs. Abrams, Dornbush, Feldstein, Roubicek
and Volavka, and our assistants, express our gratitude for your assistance.

Sincerely yours,
