The unusual interest in methadone surprised me. practitioners are accepting methadone maintenance as Many a quick cure of the opiate addiction problem. It is a facile solution, but one which promises much more than it can deliver. But in our experience, it merely exaggerates the problem and delays any definitive solution. With all their limitations, the antagonists provide a possible "real" solution. I trust the report will be acceptable, and that any summaries or overviews may reflect the dilemma and its doubts that trouble us.
