Dear Dr. Wittenborn:

It was great fun in Istanbul, and I do think Turan did a most
admirable job in organizing such a fine meeting. I an writing about
two different thoughts, and ask your advice.
1. In Prague, I met Dr. Peter Fell, a research director of Organon
(Netherlands). Dr. Fell is a most knowledgeable psychopharnacologist and
I believe can contribute to our ACNP sessions in Decenber. I would like
to invite his attendance and ask that you send him such forms and notices
as he may need. His address is:
Dr.

Peter J. Fell

Basic

Human

N.V. Organon

Research Department

Oss, Holland

2. You will recall that l have been posted as Chairman of the ACNP
Nominating Committee. In the business meeting of the GIMP, I was impressed
by the totally undemocratic and restrictive nature of their nominating
procedures, and was stimulated to think of our own procedures. Our own
method is much better, but perhaps it can be enhanced by an invitation to

the membership to recommend nominees to the Nominati z Committee. If it
is not too late, would you accept a request for a mailing of the enclosed
note to the members; I am aware that it may be too late for this year, and
will not be disconfeted if unfeasible.
Thanks

for your coOperation.

My

best regards.

Sincerely yours,
Fink, M.D.
Professor of Psychiatry
