I was pleased to have the opportunity last week to discuss the continued evaluation of W 2354. While I am most interested in applying the EEG profile analysis methods, it seems that such a study now would not serve your long-term interests. As we discussed, it may be more profitable to continue clinical studies in arthritic patients, at various dosages below those reported from New Orleans as producing gross CNS effects. In these subjects, the concurrent sampling of EEG, with suitable attention to time of recording, dose of w 2354, electrode montage and amplification, will provide additional information for an EEG profile study. It may be useful to have the EEG records from different centers obtained according to a common protocol, particularly if you wish us to review the records for evidence of central effects. We will be glad to cOOperate, and both discuss with the electroencephalographers, our recording needs, and review these records on your behalf.
