They report that the instrument was Specially designed, and does not follow IRIS standards for head configuration, and would therefore not yield tapes compatible with our reading system. They indicated that Honeywell did make a Special head which could be used to modify the instrument but this would be expensive-~ almost as expensive as buying a new instrument.
