Dear

26, 1970

Everett,

Thank you for your invitation to participate in the
Duke symposium. As I mentioned on the phone, I am running a meeting
on Narcotic Antagonists in Opiate Dependence on June 4 and
I have
enough energy
will fly down on Friday, since I am particularly

if

left,

interested in the Saturday presentation.

Your paper submitted to the CINP is accepted in the
co-symposium on amphetamines, and will be presented on Thursday,
August 13 in the afternoon, I will be chairman of that session.
The main symposium will be held on Wednesday afternoon,
and a copy of that program is enclosed. While the Program Committee
viewed the sessions as separate, I convinced them to allow me to
one symposium~- which they agreed.
join the two and to call

it

For your program, I note that you have omitted the
neurophysiology of amphetamines as seen in man-- a small but important
distinction. If you plan to publish your proceedings you may wish to
ask either C. Shagass, T. Itil, Ian Oswald or myself to contribute
a small report or overview of the recent EEG [clinical data. John
Kramer has some EEG samples and data, and could augment his report

if

you remind him.

you.

Have a good

session,

and

I

hope

that I

may

be able to

My

best regards.
Sincerely yours,
