The emphasis on alcohol as a toxic substance is, of course, consistent with our own experience. We have tried for a number of years to support the techniques of antagonists in the treatment of opiate dependence and found that political cooperation was very difficult to achieve. However, the work of this department stands as the single most active unit in the United States dedicated to studies of antagonists. like cyclazocine and naloxone in opiate dependence. It is an interesting story which has not been well told. Again, my thanks for your comments.
