Since formulating the proposal we have had additional experience with cyclazocine which makes us believe that the same principles and techniques should be applied to the development of a long acting form for cyclazocine as well. For either naloxone or cyclazocine, the first step is the development of a slow release form and a determination of a maximum amount that can be concentrated in a silastic vehicle. The initial animal trials must be undertaken to determine the release rate. These pharmacological aSSays can be done by a number of American consulting firms.
