Dear

Fritz,

It

was kind of you to invite me to portioipato in the
District Branch program in March, and I vary ouch regret that
I will be in Denver during the neck of the noeting. I have discussed
the problem with A1 and he concurs in the recommendation of our
associate, Dr. Arthur Zakn to complement his presentation.

APA

Dr. Arthur Zak: is an Instructor in Psychiatry in the
Department. Since 1966, when he was a resident. he has been intimately
cosociatod with our studies of oyclazocinc, heroin, noloxonc and mathadono. He is fully acquainted with our data, add has attended the
rcccnt meetings of the HAS-NRC committee, no that he is fully
acquainted with the work of other investigators. (Incidentally, he
is also a yrincipcl in our studies of cannabis).

I underntcnd the proaontation in on March 12 at the
Academy of Hodicine. I will anoint him in the preparation of his
roport, and am confident that he will do a commendable job, in
doocrihing tho ptoocnt approaches to the treatmcnt of Opiate de~
