Learner invited me to see a patient tho psychiatric service of North Shore Hospital. is I told him, the nursing staff was most cooperative, and expressed a superior understanding of the patient. The records were excellent, and my review was an unusually satisfying experience. on When North Shore Hospital opened, I was in Great Neck and participated in ‘ its early practice in development. fly interest electroencephalography permitted me to develop in clinical the laboratory at North Shore fiospital (and also at Long Island Jewish and aillsido). My intorost in the community led to an active program with fiassau fl? fiocicty, with my cloction as president in 1959~603 and the fbunding of tho Nassau NP Newsletter as historical phases of that interest. Since 1967 I have been teaching at Now York Medical College, primarily for rosoarch programs in biological particularly in addictions, psychopharmocology and roSponsiblo psychiatry ~ and convulsive therapy. During those throo years I have frequently regretted not rooostoblishing a community base. I live in Croat flock and the daily commuting to flow York is becoming more of a chore. Stimulated by my recent visit I am writing to explore the possibility of ro—ostablishing a relationship with North Shore-Hospital. A copy of my curriculum vitao is enclosed.
