Washington, 0.0. 20009 Dear Dr. Braceland: Enclosed are draft copies of two reports summarizing our experiences with a narcotic antagonist, cyclazocine. Following theoretical models which have been of interest for many years, we found that cyclazocine had a neurophysiological profile similar to imipramine. These clinical trials, in two different populations, does indeed have significant clinical indicate that cyclazocine antidepressant activity. We are aware that such open clinical studies are ordinarily of limited value since enthusiasm may effect the treatment outcome in depressive populations. But the demonstration of a significant application of available neurophysiologic methods provides our incentive to present this publically.
