Belgium Dear Dr. Giurgea: I have read your reprints with a great deal of interest. especially your chapter on the sequential screening of antidepressant drug: and your report at the CINP. Both seem to make the point quite well that the present pragmatic methods are satisfactory in identifying compounds similar to established antidepressant agents. The real test will come in the identification of useful psychoactive agents which bear little reseflblance to the compounds of today. In a review of our studies of cyclazocine as an antidepressant, I am taking the liberty of referring to your work as an example of the variety of tests used in the evaluation of new drugs today. thanks for your reprints and for continued success.
