Dear Dr. Covi:

It was a pleasure having you visit with us today. This is
to confirm the procedures which might be implemented subject to
the agreement concerning the protocol by your staff and Dr. Donald
Shapiro and myself.
We are equipped to undertake the
analysis of the necessary
records in 100 subjects half of whom are to receive Bilantin and
the remainder a placebo for periods of two months. he would
recommend that EEG records be obtained on two occasions prior to
drug treatment and a single record at the end of four and eight

wee

s.

We will provide the results of period
as described
analysis
in the attached report with the outputs availa
e in printed form
and in data cards.

it will be necessary that
electroencephalograph which is linear in its
output on magnetic tape up to 80 cycles. frequency oscillator, two
channel oscilloscope, and a l/2 inch FM tape recorder compatible
with the SP~300. he would like to recommend that you use Ampex
746 l/Z inch tape or its equivalent.
If such a study is of interest to you and your associates, I
would be pleased to discuss with you the additional costs of data
analysis and consultations.
To accoMplish

you have

available

this study, however,
