Their euphasis on power spectral density is logical. but it is probably the more expensive way of handling the problem which you face. It seems to me that the initial approximations for your work are no different than our initial appmximatdnns and for these, period analysis is faster and much less expensive. We lave already developed a variety of methods of Using the period analytic output to characterize the patterns in the EEG and these might be useful in detennining the changes which you anticipate in your animals. . 1; ”'3! This is indeed a good idea, altmugh I wonder if saving the digital tape is the best way to save the data. It does man, that any analyses you wish to undertake must he done in laboratories which cam mad that tape. My om predilection is to save the analog information. However, this may be too expensive. Incidentally, I found the enclosed article in the Medical section of the J.A.M.A. recently and am sending it to you. The differences in the two records described in this note are probably masurable by period analysis.
