The Department of Psychiatry is rapidly expanding and I believe that opportunities both for you and your wife exist in this program. Amng the more rapid growing parts of the Department are the units for partial hospitalization, a rapid treatment and a study progran in narcotic addiction. unit fortuitously, there is a special Opportunity for your wife, insofar as the present chief of the Division of Psychology is stepping down frcm that position to devote more of his time to a research program in rapid treatment. , In the expansion of these prograns, emphasis is given to the evaluation of the treatment ardto the study designs which may make this possible. To minimize the variability inherent in a large staff on a very part time basis the appointments to the Department since last sunmer have largely been made on a full time basis and only on occasion at twee—quarter or half—— time.
