The indirect costs were determined according to the attached schedule . During the initial three months of the grant (October — Deoeuber 1963), the Foundation was opemting on an mnuel overhead figure of 15%. A review of our costs We research grant during the last half of 1963 resulted in our notifying the Public Health Service that a higher indirect cost figure would be necessary and all grmts, effective January l, 196“ were charged at an overhead rate of 20%. No overhead (merges were made for the services provided by Washington University Computer Center. In each that these charges were paid, the total expendituresnonth were reduced and the overhead rate was applied to the net expenditures only.
