Delton, end now, Governor Horton Heetnes, the Division of Huntsl
Disesses of the Stste of Missouri has established s reoesrch sad
treininz center in St. Louis. This center is dediceted to studying
_the problems of the eevore mantelly ill, end in the training of
psychietrists for public service. Va here been sble to dovelop our

facilities with the support of the legislature of Hisaouri. the

public through their direct contributions. end the Public Health
Service which hes cede eveileble to no funds under the Beelth
lecilitiee Act for the cohplstioo of our lsboretory.
During this growth potion. we have not been eble to obtain
the foods necessery to estsblish library fscilitiee sdequete to
the needs of our scientists. While at here usde s pilot effort
to provide so iniotletion rottievsl systeu in our computer center,
to enlerge our librsry so that it now has 5,000 volumes. to expand
our journel subscription lists to thet we note evsilsble to our
scientists end students 180 jourusls in psychiatry. the services
ere still insdequete.
There is greet coed for tho expansion of library £scilitiee,
both st this center end in the othor oedicsl centers in the oidwcst.
we ere sotsbliohing a documentation contsr for the behaviorsl sciences.
end this conter will seek support not only from the logislsture of
Missouri. but es it will be a tlsionel feoility. from the rederel
Government as woll.
