I was pleased to read the main points the summary, for I believe you have of Dr. Ward's essay. It is of equal interest, that your article was quoted to me earlier this week when I gave a talk to the Missouri Occupational Therapy Association on the capth subject of the activities of the Missoxmi Institute of Psychiatry. I was asked why we did not do an evaluation of psychotherapy. The questioner indicated that she had recently read a review in a New York newspaper and I was quick to suggest that it must have been written by yourself. With some surprise she agreed that it was. I also stated that we were not doing an evaluation of psychotherapy since psychotherapy was not an active treatnent process for the severe mentally ill in the institutions of the Division of Mental Diseases of the State of Missouri. I am glad to see that you are still busy in protecting the national welfare. May I take this opportmity again to suggest that on your next trip west you stop by and visit us in St. Louis for I think you will find that the work of this center is more consistent with your views of science than the institution from which I My came. best regards.
