this Institute, we offer the following:

Institute of Psychiatry is the research and training center of the Division of Mental Diseases of Missouri. It
was established in October, 1962, with laboratories and clinical
fseilities for research. At the present time, of 150 beds, we
are utilizing 70 for research purposes. Laboratories are estab—
lished in phsrnscology. psychology, electroencephalography, end
neurology, as well as a computer center for both statistical and
BBC analyses.
There is a specialized psychiatric research library
as a component part of the Institute. Animal facilities are now
being built and will be completed by the end of the year.
At the present time, there are a number of research programs in
progress. These include Lithium as e therapy for mania; the use
of Yohilbine as e precipitant of anxiety and the development of
snti~anxiety agents; relation of EEG patterns and organic factors
in the treatment of therapy resistant psychotics; computer analysis
of the electroencephalogram; the effects of drug withdrawal on the
behavior in the chronically ill; the evaluation of new psychotropic
drugs is part of s national early clinical drug evaluation program.
The Missouri

Institute is planning to expend these programs in the coming
year. We are inviting the collaboration of scientists whose
interests are compatible to our own and who wish an opportunity
such as this institute provides. and are pleased to consider such
